Autumn: a Bumper Crop of Events in the Willows – Community Matters

Get your pens, calendars and diaries to hand – lots on in the Willows this Autumn.

With half term on the horizon, two smashing FREE local events for families:

Saturday 21 October 10.30 – 12.30 at St Martin’s Hall on Barton Hill Road, enjoy a free entry Autumn Family Fun event. There will be arts and crafts activities, along with a free children’s lunch. Soft archery, junk modelling, a ventriloquist – wow! Of course, all children must be accompanied.

And on Thursday 26 October 10am – 2pm at The Willow Tree Pub on Condor Way, join us for a Family Fun event aimed at the under 12’s. Enjoy traditional games and crafting, plus ever-popular Lego table! Optional fancy dress – so come dressed up if you want to, you decide the theme: Autumn, Halloween… whatever you like. Prizes will be given at 12 noon for best Child, Family and Adult costumes! Pub garden if good weather (along with the Craft Bus), indoors if not.  Please book in advance for this event, so that we have an idea of expected numbers: Call/text or email Helen: 07548 704 876 / [email protected] Again, children do need to be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult.

And on another note entirely…Do you enjoy a game of Scrabble? Then why not drop in to the NEW Scrabble Social, starting Tuesday 31 October, any time between 10 – 12 at the Willow Tree pub. Come along, play a game, have a chat. Pop in on the day and ask for host, Lindy.

Scrabble Social will take place on the last Tuesday of the month, with future dates of Tuesday 28 November, a break for Christmas, and then Tuesday 30 January.

Keep up with what’s happening in the Willows – ask me for our monthly newsletter. If you have a group you’d like mentioned (or would like to start one), get in touch and let me know. Likewise, if there is a local event you are planning. It’s great to get this information ‘out there’ for the benefit of our community. Thanks, everyone!
