24 Sep Now hiring: Torquay Town Centre Facilitator
Help Shape the Future of Torquay Town Centre
Torquay is a town with huge potential, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help unlock it.
This is an exciting new full-time role for someone who doesn’t just want to talk about improving the town centre, but wants to make things happen. As Torquay Town Centre Facilitator, you’ll be at the heart of efforts to revitalise our town centre – bringing people together, turning ideas into action and helping create a town centre that local people are proud of, businesses want to invest in, and visitors want to return to time and time again.
From identifying opportunities to improve the look, feel and experience of the town centre for all our visitors, to encouraging new and exciting retailers to choose Torquay, and working with existing businesses, landlords, community groups and local organisations to create a more vibrant and welcoming destination – this is a role where your ideas, energy and ability to get things done can have a visible impact.
We’re looking for someone who understands what makes a successful town centre tick. Someone highly organised, commercially aware and naturally good at bringing different people and interests together. You’ll need strong local knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to see the bigger picture while keeping projects moving. Most importantly, you’ll need enthusiasm, initiative and a genuine desire to make Torquay a better place – from the inside out.
If you’re someone who sees opportunities where others see challenges, enjoys working with people and wants to leave a tangible mark on the place you work, we’d love to hear from you.
This new role has been made possible by the Pride in Place funding, agreed by the Torquay Place Leadership Board who have initially funded the project for 12 months, with potential for further funding from identified and unidentified funded opportunities.
This is an exciting new role, managed by a partnership of the Torquay Independent Business Owners (TIBO), Torquay Town Centre Partnership and Torquay Town Centre Community Partnership, with the post holder employed by Torbay Communities.
