04 Nov COMMUNITY DISCO IS BACK AND EVERYONE IS INVITED TO COME ALONG – COMMUNITY MATTERS
By Chris Durrant, Community Builder for Preston, Paignton
The Preston community afternoon disco is back! This is your chance to come and dance the afternoon away.
Our DJs, Richard and Bob, have a huge selection of titles from the 1950s to the present day and they are more than happy to play your requests.
Everyone gets up and dances and we all go away feeling brighter for it. The first is today (Thursday, November 3) from 2pm to 4pm at Preston Conservative Club.
There is a £1 entrance fee – free to members of the club. The bar will be open. Some people have told me that they may be on grandchildren duty. Bring them along. Well-behaved children will be very welcome as the disco is not in the bar area. You are sure of a fun afternoon.
If we are lucky, Bobby Fury may make an appearance towards the end of the afternoon and entertain us with some live music. If you can’t make November, the next one will be on Thursday, December 1.
With the cold months arriving, you may be glad to attend one of the many ‘warm spaces’ opening up for people to come together and socialise in a warm and friendly environment. These will be places you can come for a hot drink and a chat. Don’t sit alone at home in the cold, join others and share the warmth. Get in touch with the community builder team for details of warm spaces in your locality.
In other news, we have many different groups and activities going on across the Bay – from coffee mornings to art groups, board games to yoga and plenty of other choices.
If you want to know more, just get in touch with your local community builder by visiting our Facebook page www.facebook.com/TorbayCBuilders/ or email [email protected] and tell us where you live. Then your community builder will get in touch with you.
